Is a word used to describe something without merit. Something beyond reason; unreasonable. To say that something is overblown, exagerated, or an unfortunate consequence of a chosen course of action would all be different things than choosing the word, “meritless.” To say that accusations of genocide are “meritless”, when unarmed civilians are being slaughtered at the very sites they’ve been directed to seek shelter within, with a casualty count of over 20,000 now, may be any number of things, but it is not an accusation without merit.
If we are to be some sort of PROSPERITY GUARDIAN while abandoning the ideals of human rights, the ideals and intent of our “beloved”, “cherished”, “revered” founders envisioned of a MORE PERFECT union, a civil soceity where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness were recognized as the right of all.
I continue to offer my lightning. And while I wait, and warn, I watch.
Your titles of “honorable”, salutations of “respectfully”, and claims of concern for living human beings you have sworn an oath to represent seem … somewhat … lacking. Are they completely … absent?
No, I’ve always hoped to make a difference, but I’m well past expecting that I will. Run into the abyss, and pray that I’m wrong and that you will actually be happy with what you rush toward. Perhaps it is just I who is the odd man out, mistaken about what’s important. I think therefore I am … something. I’m not the one who said that, and I don’t recall who was. Was it Plato? Couldn’t be, since Plato probably didn’t speak American. You get the point. Or not.
I hope never to turn my back on the ideals I hold sacred, even if you all destroy me for it.
