I hate being a doomsayer. No one seeks us out. It’s not that I’m not excited by the possibilities; it’s that I’m no fun to have around because I also see the pitfalls, and I’m very, very willing to tell you the problems that I see. I’m not doing it to gloat, or to detract; I’m doing it so our combined effort will be better, greater, safer, more enjoyable. I don’t really care about getting credit (though I admit it’s lonely over here). I just want the best for everyone.
If I want the best for everyone, but no one wants me around, then it feels as though from the other perspective, I am a problem, if not the problem.
Was the Oceangate crew doing what they loved, mercifully unaware until the moment of their end? We know now that at least one of them was warned, but just because you tell someone something doesn’t mean they heard it. Just because you show them something, it doesn’t mean they’ve seen it.
Will another warning make any difference? Will it shatter someone’s confidence? Will it inspire a change in flow? To what degree can the smartest fish direct the flow of a river as a dam overflows with the pressure blowing in sideways from countless tv commercials.
The latest game requires you to give up your freedom a little more. What else could be more natural?
There is no great mystery here. Mother earth and father time will continue to struggle with the space family until us avatars learn to work together better. Maybe we just need more shows with spaceships replete will life instead of struggling to support it.
Oppression is the only cause for war. A monopoly is not a free market.
