I’d love to be making more progress.
I have orders for equipment on backorder, and I have to assume that COVID is partially to blame. Who knows what havok travel restrictions are playing with global supply and trade. I *assume* some of the things I’m waiting on aren’t produced here in the USA. Shocking, I know. My composting toilet is, but fuzes and electrical equipment is not.
Much of my thinking in outfitting the LanderVan is with sustainability in mind. I think the waste we manufacture in pursuit of convenience is selfish, and too much of our luxury is built on the backs of those less fortunate.
Anyway … I keep thinking about heating. My initial plan was to use the propane oven in a dual-duty role. I’ve been looking at diesel or gasoline heaters that seem to be popular, but nothing has jumped out as “the” solution to go with. I even like the idea of a wood stove – but I can’t imagine a satisfactory setup with solar panels set to cover most of the roof.
I’ve set myself a target for being on the go, but I remain flexible, as the shipping industry and life itself demands. We shall see.
