Change is inevitable. I have prepared for “the long haul” by choosing a Lithium battery, yet the patch in my roof is a temporary fix, at best.
This weekend, I’d planned to make progress on cleaning up the roof. I got up Saturday morning and set to work with a putty knife and sandpaper, cleaning up flaking paint and surface spotting – why did Dodge mold in areas for water to pool in? Sunday was an acetone rub-down and some Rustoleum rattle-can white. At least it looks better.
There was also a (previous to me) patch at the front of the cab that had been covered with a hearty and not-altogether-elegant bondo application. The *plan* was to smooth that out a bit. Instead I uncovered something. I’m not entirely sure what it was, because I promptly slapped a plastic bag bordered with duct tape over it, but I suspect that whatever was used for the patch had a previous life as hazard equipment, since it was covered in that retro-reflective orange tape. More attention is required there.
I did install a new receiver, mostly for it’s display for use with the rearview camera, since I constantly feel like I’m going to back into someone I can’t see. It’s all working, but the camera hasn’t been mounted.
